Founding Partner LeRoya Chester Jennings is a native of Atlanta, Georgia.  After graduating from Benjamin E. Mays High School, she attended the University of Georgia where she received a B.S. in Psychology.  LeRoya then attended Wake Forest University School of Law.  While in law school, she worked in the Elder Law Clinic assisting clients in drafting wills and estate planning.

LeRoya is a former prosecutor who has worked in various prosecuting agencies – the City of Atlanta, the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, the Coweta County Solicitor’s Office and the DeKalb County Solicitor’s Office. As a prosecutor, LeRoya has litigated and negotiated pleas on thousands of cases involving DUI, Drug Offenses, Vehicular Homicides, Domestic Violence and many other criminal offenses throughout her career.

In the DeKalb County Solicitor’s Office, LeRoya served as Deputy Chief of the Domestic Violence Unit. As a Special Prosecutor, LeRoya was responsible for managing the Domestic Violence Unit and the Domestic Violence Diversion Program.  LeRoya had the opportunity to practice before all of the State Court Judges currently sitting in DeKalb County.  However, LeRoya’s work extended beyond the courtroom.  She often counseled victims as they tried to rebuild their lives after very traumatic experiences.  Because of her strong work ethic and dedication both in and out of the office, LeRoya received the “Attorney of the Year” award.

LeRoya is also dedicated to educating her peers and the public.  In addition to lecturing on trial advocacy to prosecutors, police, and the community, LeRoya has also served as an instructor for the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia and as a guest speaker at George State University, Westwood College, and several Fulton and DeKalb County schools.

While LeRoya is a public servant, she is extremely passionate about the youth in the community.  In 2008, LeRoya chaired the Aspiring Youth Committee for the Young Lawyers Division for the State Bar of Georgia (GA YLD).  LeRoya decided to use this position to truly inspire at-risk youth.  The Aspiring Youth Committee was revamped to provide mentoring to young men incarcerated at the DeKalb Regional Youth Detention Center and teach these men the art of debate.  The program was nationally recognized when it received the Public Service Award from the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. As a founding member of the program, LeRoya received the Award of Achievement from the GA YLD.

LeRoya is also heavily involved with Keep Me Alive, Inc., an organization organized by her husband to provide recreational programs to the youth and wellness education to the general public.

LeRoya is married to Kraig Jennings and they share two children. She and her family are members of Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.
